There is no such thing as "One Size Fits All" for contractors insurance.

Packaged insurance policies can be very deceiving.   After all they look very much the same and they cost pretty close to the same.

You can get quotes from twenty different insurance companies offering a small contractors insurance package in today's market.   It is easy to get the impression that it really does not matter who you deal with, that the policies are all pretty much the same.

Property in Your Care Custody and Control

  • You rent a hotel room.
  • You rent, or lease office space, storage facility, or a workshop.
  • You rent or lease a vehicle.
  • You offer storage facilities.
  • You pick up and deliver other peoples property.
  • You rent tools or equipment from someone and use them at the job site.
  • People drop property off at your location to be repaired.
  • You tow someone's vehicle or trailer.
  • You load and unload property belonging to others.
Any time you are in possession of property you do not own, you require special insurance.  Quite often, coverage is not automatically included in contractors insurance policies.

Builder's Risk - Under Construction Insurance

Is the property you are working on insured?

Ever wonder what would happen if the house your were working on burned to the ground.  Would you get paid for the work you did up to when the fire occurred?   Would you have to redo your work without additional compensation?

Why DO I Need Liabilty Insurance?

Anyone Can Sue For Anything
Anyone can make an accusation, hire a lawyer, and seek damages. They can even take you to small claims court. The accusations can be totally unfounded and without merit, but you must defend yourself. This is one of the most important aspects of Liability Insurance. The insurance company will defend you and pay the costs of doing so.  People will think twice before going to court  against an insurance company.
